30 miles to house in the woods 10 miles south of Cheboygan

Last night I had a meal in a pizza place. I am not sure why there was a display of taxidermy taking up so much space.

A short and restful day. Cycled south now with Lake Huron to my left to stay with Connie and Dale. Another fantastic couple, I missed the entrance, so Connie walked up and met me. They have a quirky house in the woods with a path down to Lake Huron. Everything is wood, and most of the work they have done themselves, it has real rustic charm. Great people they left me to lie on the coach and read a book for the afternoon, refusing all my offers to help dig the foundations for new steps they are building.
In the evening we went to watch /listen to live music in Cheboygan., A nice atmosphere with lots of families and family dogs. The singer was a bit like an Inverness busker. I thought the dogs let the side down when they did not join in to howl in 'werewolf in London', and I was a bit surprised the singer chose Rock On by David Essex as one of his pieces. Dale is a great singer and songwriter, I know this because  I listened to some of his recordings over breakfast. Sometimes he plays at the reqular weekly town event, but sadly not the night I was there.
There was thunder, lightening and rain in the night. As I left in the morning the toads had come out.

There are  a lot of lighthouses surrounding the coast of the great lakes, and apparently a lot of shipwrecks.

In the USA care of roadside highways is done by groups/individuals, this means rubbish collection. There are signs along the roadside to tell you who looks after what section. Connie and Dale look after a 4 mile stretch. They pick up a lot of old drinks containers.
