cycling from Seattle 2017

Yesterday I arrived back from Penrith, very late. Went down by train last Thursday and had the Ridgeback serviced by Aragons cycles in preparation for the trip. Very clean ans shiny it looks too. Spent the weekend with mum, driving her car for visits to Ambleside, Grasmere, and Ullswater.        I had cycle reservations for the train home with Virgin trains but they would not let my bike on as spaces already taken! So a long wait for another train and space, thus missed connection and late arrival home. Hope they give me a refund. Note the first class lounge which they let me use in Edinburgh is not up to much, machine teas and coffee and shortbread biscuits.

Making preparations for my next 3 month cycle trip. I am returning to Seattle at the beginning of June. Will have 2 weeks with Keith to cycle around Washington state parks, then am on my own. Flight booked back from Toronto at the end of August.      Thank you to the booking staff at Inverness railway station, for finding bike spaces on the train down to Glasgow for the flight.     Have just watched steam train travelling on the line below Kirkhill, and wonder if I will see any more on my travels.
