wed. the 12th July
68 miles so far but will be cycling another 6 into the Theodore Roosevelt National Park:40 in Montana, the rest in North Dakota
Had a good night last night with Joyce, her husband Glen and their friendly dog and cat. The dog has a special collar which means he gets zapped if he goes out of his allocated boundaries!
Was taken to see their son's farm in the dry badlands (have cycled through these), and then watched Glen catch a catfish in the Yellowstone River which runs at the bottom of their garden.
Thunder rain last night cleared the air to 10 degrees cooler, so much better for cycling. The landscape is interesting with weird rock formations. I could sense a change when I passed into North Dakota. Plus have been meeting quite a few fellow cyclists on route.
Am going to spend a day in the National Park. Apparently there are bison but no bears. But first off to get an ice cream.
