73 miles to Fargo
Thunder in the air so cycled as quick as I could, through farm land, very large fields and lots of farm machinery being transported around. I cycled into Fargo along the cycle path and by a series of green parks. Then returned to stay with Mara and Walter on their farm. As I was riding a car approached me are you sarah?, I am not wearing a name band! This does however, make me feel welcome.
Mara is an amazing person, she has only just stated being a warm showers host after being approached by a party of 15 cyclists who needed somewhere to camp. She does not feed her chickens but they have a large area to find their own worms in, the result is hens that are still laying at age 10 and eggs to rival those of Eunice. She also sells eggs and wool at the farms market, and has helped set up a very good wholefood co-op.
Walter and Mara took me to a 'picnic' at the care home where their 102 year old mother has an apartment. Mavis is still making quilts, was interested in my trip, and uses a walker a bit like mums.
We then had a tour of the flood protection measures on the side of the red river. This has included the demolishment of some very large pricey homes. I was shown downtown Fargo and my favourite visited the excellent co.op.

SO FARGO

!. Has bike paths not just car dealerships
2. Has a lot of green spaces
3.Has wholefood co-op and organic breweries
4. Has rejuvenated its downtown area
5 Has preserved its historic theatre
It has no resembalance to the Cohen brothers film.
