Friday 7th July
91 miles to Malta
Awake early, main road, an air unit from nearby casino trains.
But then have to cycle early before it gets too hot. A much better day.The wind was behind me, less traffic, smaller farms so more to look at. The Bear Paw Mountains in the distance to my right. And criss crossing the Milk river.
By 7am I had cycled 20 miles to Chinook and was eating my second breakfast in a diner. At 73 miles I had a rest in a shady park in the small village of Dodson. The one shop was shut so I then just carried on cycling, up over grassland, with wild flowers on the side of the road. Through Indian reservation lands
Am staying in the camp site attached to motel and RV park. Very peacefull except when the trains go past. There are an enormous number of freight lines in the West. It is great to see the goods being carried this way. They are very long.
I now have my mosquito repellent shirt on but will have to wait till dusk to see if it works!
