Thursday 15th June

On Tuesday we were up early to cycle to Bremmerton. 72 miles
First it was an early morning ride up and over a wooded hillside and down to Shelton. A lovely ride, but a bit of a hole of a place. I was there in 2013 with Ruffie. Then through very Scandinavian style forests and past lakes to the naval port of Bremmerton.
We stayed with Charlie and Carol from warmshowers. Again a great welcome-Charlie cycled out to meet us, as we were running late due to a flat tyre on Keith's bike. We had grilled halibut looking over a lake and with the Olympic mountains in the distance. I also used their washing machine in order to get some clean clothes for Seattle.
Wed. 14th June 16 miles.
Then in the morning Charlie led us down a sneaky quick route to the ferry over to Seattle. Not booked into the hostel until Thursday, so we went over to the small island of Bainbridge in the Puget sound to relax, camp and eat. A very upmarket island with some pricey real estate! and speciality food shop.
They also had a cycle 'museum' attached to what Keith has decided is the best cycle shop he has ever visited. We bought some new tyre levers!    1
A great camp site in the hiker biker section, by the shore. Note the washing up still has to be done.

     Thursday 15th June  10 miles

Today took the 30 min. ferry ride back into Seattle. However it is raining, actually it is now sheeting with rain. So we have not seen much apart from the inside of an Irish pub where we drank Guiness until the hostel opened. Now we are drinking tea.
